My Lineup Strategist Guide
Welcome to My Lineup Strategist! This tool is designed to eliminate start/sit headaches and bring clarity to your weekly fantasy football lineup decisions.
1 Syncing & Adding Leagues
On the Dashboard tab, enter your Sleeper Username and League ID and tap Sync Sleeper to sync that league's roster automatically. To bring in every league at once, enter just your Username and tap Import All My Leagues (no League ID needed). Switch between leagues using the header dropdown or its arrow buttons.
- Manual Leagues: If you don't use Sleeper, leave the Sleeper fields blank, tap "Create Manual", then add your players one by one under Advanced Settings > Add Player Manually (type a name, press Enter to pick it, then Enter again to add it).
- From My Draft Strategist: If you just finished a draft in My Draft Strategist, a banner on the Dashboard offers to Import as New League using your drafted roster.
- Setup Progress: Until you've added a league and loaded ROS and Weekly rankings, a short checklist shows what's left to do.
2 League Command Center & Requirements
The League Command Center on the Dashboard shows every league at a glance, with the status of its rankings, lineup, and settings.
- Sync All Leagues: Refreshes rosters, waivers, and trades for all of your Sleeper leagues at once (manual leagues are skipped).
- Optimize All Lineups: Re-runs the Lineup Optimizer for every league using your latest Weekly rankings.
- Active League Requirements: The number of starting slots at each position for the active league. These auto-populate during Sleeper sync; for manual leagues, set them yourself and tap "Save Requirements".
3 Uploading Custom Rankings & SoS
Upload custom analyst rankings in either .CSV or native .XLSX Excel format. Choose the file, or drop it anywhere on the rankings card. Use Upload Format to send one file with all positions, or separate files for each position that get combined into one list.
Upload Rest-of-Season (ROS) rankings on the Roster tab, and Weekly Matchup rankings on the Lineup tab. You can also upload or manually input a Strength of Schedule (SoS) matrix in the Roster tab to instantly generate color-coded matchup gradients on player cards. Note: If you upload a generic rankings CSV that contains a 'Matchup' or 'SoS' column, the app will automatically extract it for you. If your file also has a Tier column, each player's tier is shown next to their rank on player cards, like (T2).
- Preview Before Saving: Every upload opens a preview first. It flags any names that didn't match a Sleeper player (those players stay unranked everywhere in the app, so rename them to match Sleeper if needed) and lets you pick which leagues should use the file.
- Ranking Sets: Each upload is saved as a named set you can share across leagues. Pick a league's set with Ranking Set for this League, or tap "Choose leagues…" to point several leagues at the same set.
- Auto-Fetch ROS Rankings: No ROS file? Pull market consensus values from FantasyCalc instead, matched to your league type, QB format, scoring, and TE Premium. These settings are shared with the Scout tab's Trade Finder.
- Manual SoS: Under "Edit Manual SoS Grid", enter each team's matchup rank (1-32) for QB, RB, WR, and TE, then tap "Save Manual SoS".
4 Positional Power Rankings
Found on the Roster tab and generated automatically from your rankings (or Market Consensus data). Every team in your league is ranked 1 to N: Start scores each team's best legal starting lineup under your league's roster settings, measuring each position's starters against the league average and weighting by how many lineup spots that position fills (one position can lift a lineup, but only up to 150% of average, so an elite QB can't hide empty RB and WR rooms). Ovr scores the whole roster, and QB/RB/WR/TE score each whole position room. Hover or tap any rank to see the players behind it; teams strong where you're weak make ideal trade partners. Each team also gets a label. In dynasty and keeper leagues it's Contender (top-third starting lineup), Retool (mid-pack lineup with a decent future) or Rebuild (bottom-third lineup, or mid-pack with an aging roster), using a Future column (future value) that adjusts each roster's value for player age (from Sleeper) with rough positional age curves - younger players count a bit more, older players less. It's a heuristic, not a projection. In redraft leagues it's Contender / Bubble / Longshot. Labels reflect roster strength only, not the standings. The same rankings also power the Waiver Wire Assistant's All My Leagues search: look up a player and each league shows your power rank at his position. Set Looking To to Buy / Add to flag the leagues where you're weak there and he'd move you up, or Sell / Drop to flag the leagues where you own him and have depth to spare. Each league is scored with its own rankings (Market Consensus if it has none).
5 Lineup Optimizer & Early Games
The Lineup Optimizer generates your highest-projected starting lineup based on your Weekly Rankings. Lock foundational starters with or tap ⇄ Swap to manually override positions. Select teams playing in early windows (TNF, London) under Early Games to flag them with an EARLY badge across your lineup before roster locks. Each starter and bench player also shows their opponent and Sleeper's projection for the week (labeled proj); once that player's game is final, their actual score takes its place with the projection shown beneath it. The optimizer runs on your rankings; the one place it uses Sleeper's projection is a FLEX decision between players who have no FLEX rank in your file, since position ranks don't compare across positions (TE24 isn't really ahead of WR45). Projections and scores update when you open or interact with the tab, not live during games.
- Automatic Game-Time Locks: Once a player's game kicks off, the optimizer locks him in place so he's never moved or benched after the fact. If a lock is wrong, you can override it for that player. "Unlock All" clears your manual locks for the league, but leaves game-time locks alone.
- FLEX Kickoff Optimization: On by default. Who starts is always decided by rank first. Then your flex-eligible starters are arranged so the FLEX slot holds whoever kicks off latest, giving you the most time to make a late swap. Turn it off if you'd rather your FLEX slot simply follow rank order.
- Bench Priorities: Lists your bench from best to worst for this week, with taxi-squad players at the bottom.
- Undo / Redo: Press Ctrl+Z (Cmd+Z on Mac) to undo your last lineup edit, and Ctrl+Y or Ctrl+Shift+Z to redo it.
6 Matchup Simulator
Found on the Lineup tab, this runs 10,000 simulated matchups between your starting lineup and your current Sleeper opponent's, using each player's own week-to-week variance rather than just their season average. If you swap a player in the Lineup Optimizer before running it, the simulation reflects your in-app lineup - even if you haven't made that change in Sleeper yet - so you can test "what if I started X instead of Y" before committing to it.
Each player's expected score comes from whichever of these is available, in order: their actual score if their game has already started, Sleeper's own weekly projection for this specific matchup (factors in opponent, injury designation, etc.), then their scoring history. That history is this season's scores, plus last season's for players who have played fewer than 3 games this season; once a player reaches 3 games, last season's scores are no longer used for him.
Boom/Bust thresholds are fixed point totals, not relative to any one player's own average, so "boom" means the same real accomplishment whether it's your WR1 or your flex streamer:
- QB: Boom 24+ pts / Bust <12 pts
- RB: Boom 20+ pts / Bust <7 pts
- WR: Boom 20+ pts / Bust <7.5 pts
- TE: Boom 15+ pts / Bust <5.5 pts
- K / DEF: no widely-used standard exists for these, so Boom/Bust is instead based on each player's own average (50%/150% of it).
A R badge flags rookies, and a ~ before a player's range means there wasn't enough game history yet (fewer than 3 games) to measure their variance directly; it's an estimate, not a measured one. The Lineup Insights section (when shown) flags bench players projected to outscore the weakest starter they're eligible to replace. Only swaps you can still make are considered: bench players (and free agents, for Waiver Insights) whose game has already kicked off are left out, and so are starters whose game has started, since their slot is locked.
- Waiver Insights: Turn this on to also compare your weakest eligible starter at each position against the best available free agent there. It picks candidates from your ROS rankings (or Market Consensus data).
- Look Up a Specific Player: Search any NFL player to see their standalone boom/bust range for this week - handy for checking a waiver "sleeper" before you add him.
This is meant for exploring possibilities, not as start/sit advice. It's built on historical data, projections, and estimated variance; it has no way to know about a role change, coaching change, or opportunity shift that hasn't shown up in the data yet.
7 Global Injury Auditor
At the bottom of the Lineup tab, tap "Run Global Audit" to scan all of your leagues at once for players listed as Out or on IR who are still in a starting lineup or taking up an active bench spot. Best Ball leagues are skipped (there's no lineup to set), as are players whose game has already kicked off.
8 Scout: Waiver Wire Assistant
The Scout tab is your interactive transaction hub. The app cross-references your Sleeper Sync data to show whether players are available on waivers, on your roster, or owned by opponents, alongside side-by-side Weekly and ROS ranks.
- Auto-Find: Lists the top available players by your Weekly or ROS rankings (Rank By), filtered by Position and Show Top, with each one's weekly positional and FLEX rank. Turn on Only Would-Starts to hide anyone who wouldn't crack your lineup.
- Compare Against: Starting Lineup checks whether he'd start for you this week and names who he'd bench. Whole Roster checks whether he's better than your weakest player at the position (your drop candidate).
- Pasted Lists: Paste waiver recommendations or trade targets and tap "Scan Pasted List" to get the same checks. Set Search In to All My Leagues to run that list against every league you have synced at once - one card per player showing where he is a free agent, where he is already on your roster, and who owns him in the rest, with a Switch button to jump straight to any of them.
9 Scout: Trade Analyzer
Enter the players you'd receive and the players you'd give up. The Trade Analyzer tells you who owns each player and totals up each side's value using your own custom ROS Rankings from the Roster tab, and if you've also loaded Market Value data from the Trade Finder section, it shows a second verdict from market consensus for comparison. The values used for your ROS Rankings are estimated by converting your ROS Rank into a point value on a 0-10,000 scale, weighted so top-ranked players are worth disproportionately more; rank #1 player is around 10,000, and the values decay from there at ~1.8% per rank. It's a way to help compare players on your own board; not intended to be an exact evaluation of your rankings.
Waiver Adjustment (on by default): trading away more players than you receive frees up roster spots you can refill from waivers. When this is on, the side with fewer players gets a flat credit (500 by default, adjustable) for each extra open roster spot.
10 Trade Finder & Market Disconnects
Pull live market consensus values from FantasyCalc (or upload a market CSV). Use the Trade Finder to filter by flat rank gaps or percentage shifts to instantly uncover high-value buy-low targets and overvalued sell-high assets relative to your custom ROS board. Rank Basis controls what those gaps are measured against: Overall compares each player's rank across the whole player pool, while Positional Rank compares them only against others at their own position (QB vs QB, RB vs RB, etc.). Positional Rank is the better choice in Superflex or TE Premium leagues; those formats make market consensus price entire positions differently than a standard board would, which can otherwise flag a fairly-valued player (e.g. a top QB in a Superflex league) as a false buy-low or sell-high. One thing to know: positional gaps run much smaller than overall ones; a 10-spot Overall gap is a reasonable default, but a 10-spot gap within a single position is enormous, so lower the Minimum Rank Gap (2-4 is a good starting point) when you switch to Positional Rank.
11 Exporting & Sharing
Once your lineup is finalized, tap the PNG button to generate a clean, high-resolution screenshot of your Optimal Lineup to share with friends or post on social media! Or tap Copy to copy your lineup as plain text for group chats.
12 Backup, Restore & Reset
Your leagues, rankings, and settings are stored in this browser only. Under Advanced Settings on the Dashboard, use Export Backup to download everything as a file and Import Backup to restore it on this or another device or browser. The Danger Zone has a Factory Reset that erases all of your saved leagues, rankings, and settings, which is handy when starting a new season. My Draft Strategist data is not affected.
